Extended Medical (ex. Blue Cross, Great West Life or Green Shield)

Each individual plan varies depending on what insurer your coverage is under.   Contact your insurer for coverage information and to determine if a doctors referral is needed.

MSP – Medical Service Plan

BC residents with MSP Premium (income under $30,000/yr) are eligible for partial reimbursement on treatment fees.  MSP covers $23 per 30 minute treatment, up to 10 treatments per year.  Client is responsible for the remainder of the treatment fee.

Information needed before your appointment: Inform clinic that you have MSP Premium and supply your Care Card Number.

WCB

WCB’s goal is to cover the Injured Workers (“IW”) (100% of treatment fee)  for Massage Therapy to get the IW back to work safely and as soon as possible. 

Information needed before treatment: Dr. Referral, Claim Number and confirmation that WCB has approved the treatment.  WCB may pay up to a maximum of 15 (30 minute) treatments within the first 8 weeks from the date of accident.

ICBC

BC residents injured in an automobile accident may be covered (partial treatment fee) for Massage Therapy.   ICBC may pay up to a maximum of 12 treatments within the first 8 weeks of the motor vehicle accident.

Information needed before treatment: Dr. Referral with diagnosis and prescription of treatment (including the area(s) to be treated) is to be provided to ICBC, Claim Number and confirmation that ICBC has approved the treatment.

RCMP/DVA

RCMP/DVA clients are covered for 25 (30 minute) treatments per calendar year.  Additional treatment coverage needs approval. 

Information needed before treatment:  Health Identification Card Number or CF Service Number.

Department of Aboriginal Affairs

DAA (formerly know as DIA) clients are eligible for partial reimbursement on treatment fees.  DAA covers $23 per 30 minute treatment, up to 10 treatments per year.  Clients are responsible for the remainder of the treatment fee. 

Information need before your appointment:  Inform the clinic that you are a first nation status card carrier and give your Care Card number.
